Welcome to the Dorking and District Talking Newspaper

Do you have difficulty reading the paper but still want to keep in touch with local affairs in Dorking?   Can we help?

We are a volunteer organisation producing a weekly local news and information service in audio format for blind and partially sighted people in Dorking and the surrounding villages, RH4 and RH5 postal areas. We also issue a monthly audio magazine which we call “Dorking Talking”. The service is free.

You can also listen to us by asking Alexa to “Play Dorking Talking Newspaper” or “Play Dorking Talking Magazine” – it’s as easy as that!

Dorking Talking Newspaper – with you for the duration…

During this coronavirus crisis we at Dorking & District Talking Newspaper have had to change our system. To protect our volunteers, we have given up the weekly gathering at which we recorded the local newspaper. Instead we have a slightly altered format for the time being: the plan is to bring you a monthly service, drawing together recordings made in separate locations.  You’ll find a summary of the local news from the past weeks at the start of the memory stick, followed by our magazine, Dorking Talking, bringing you advice and information as well as items that are cheering, intriguing, practical or funny.

So stay with us: go to “How to Listen” and click “Listen here
